The Cartel has named Lexi Lewis as Director of Development. Her tenure with the company will become effective immediately. “We’ve been fans of Lexi’s for years since we worked with her at Hallmark,” said Eric Woods, Co- CEO of the company. “Her experience of overseeing a high volume of projects from development to production makes her a perfect fit to manage our growing development slate."

Based in Los Angeles, Lewis will be tasked with overseeing the firm's development of the company’s independent feature films, studio feature films, television movies, and independent television series. The production, finance and management company represents some of the top showrunners, writers, creators, producers, directors, animators, artists, and companies in the industry, producing and financing more than 120 films, TV movies, and series over the past decade including the animated series Twelve Forever for Netflix, currently produces Creepshow for AMC’s horror streaming platform Shudder, former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge’s feature film directorial debut "Monsters of California" and Syfy’s new 10-episode series "Day of the Dead."

The former Reel One executive's appointment follows a string of recent announcements highlighting The Cartel’s increased infrastructure including Stewart Cavanagh tapped as Head of Unscripted and Documentary, Kim Mooney hired as Manager for Kids and Family, and most recently the launch of Cartel Studios International, a global distribution company with operations based in Los Angeles and London. The announcement was made by Co-Founders and Co-CEO’s Stan Spry and Eric Woods.  “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome this incredible executive to our team,” Woods said.

Lewis joins The Cartel from Reel One Entertainment where she served as Manager of Creative Development. Before her time at Reel One Entertainment, she was an executive at Crown Media’s Hallmark Channel where she developed over 50 movies and two series across their three networks. Previously, Lewis also spent time in production and development at the Upright Citizens Brigade.
