Netflix and Italian Film Commissions (IFC) announce the opening, starting from 2 October 2020, of a Second Call for the presentation of applications for contributions to the aid fund for workers and crews in the audiovisual sector created by them in May 2020 in order to support the workers and crews of the audiovisual sector, severely affected by the coronavirus crisis and the interruptions of productions throughout Italy.
During the First Call over 1,600 applications were received by the Fund. In August 2020, all such applications were processed and all applicants who met the requirements had already received the credit of the 800 euro contribution.
Now, through the Second Call, it is intended to reach additional beneficiaries until the resources of the Fund are completely exhausted, which - it should be remembered - is powered by 1 million euros made available by Netflix.
In the Second Call the list of eligible productions is extended (which will be communicated by the film commissions); therefore, subjects who have already submitted an application during the First Call but have not, for whatever reason, already received the contribution are also admitted and encouraged to participate in the Second Call.
On the other hand, those who have already received the contribution during the First Call are not allowed to participate in the Second Call. Applications for grants can be sent starting from 2 October through the www.fondoifcnetflix.it platform. The deadline for submitting applications is 16 October 2020.
