The North Road Company, announced its latest co-production partnership, teaming with Spiral International and Boutique Filmes for the Brazilian medical thriller "Suture". The series, featuring several of Brazil’s most prominent actors, will screen for global buyers at MIPCOM on October 22nd, having premiered its pilot episode on October 1st at Iberseries & Platino Industria, the Madrid-based film festival and market. Rights are currently available worldwide. The title will be initially released by Prime Video in Latin America and Portugal.
Produced by Spiral and Boutique Filmes, "Suture" tells the story of Ícaro, an upstanding medical student barred from his residency program due to college debts, and Dr. Mancini, a brilliant surgeon plagued by hand tremors who yearns to return to the operating table. Left with no other recourse, the two must become doctors for a criminal organization, leading them down a treacherous path of double lives from which escape may prove impossible.
North Road’s Jan Frouman and Amy Israel serve as Executive Producers, with Spiral’s International Emmy winner Zasha Robles producing and show-running, together with Boutique Filmes’ Gustavo Mello. North Road retains the rights to produce an English-language version of the series, via its industry-leading creative team led by Israel.

In September, North Road announced another promising international co-production of a medical thriller, reuniting with Israeli studio SIPUR and broadcaster HOT, as well as production company Endemol Shine, to produce "Heart of a Killer". The series is co-created by acclaimed writer and actor Gal Zaid and stars Niv Sultan, who recently starred opposite Glenn Close in Apple TV+’s Emmy winner Tehran. North Road, SIPUR, and HOT previously partnered on "Bad Boy", from Euphoria creator Ron Leshem and acclaimed director Hagar Ben-Asher, whose credits include the Emmy nominee Bosch.
