"The Normal MFer"
CC0 Studios announces that TikTok star Charlie Curtis-Beard is set to lead the cast for "The Normal MFer", a new 10-episode adult animated series created by CC0 Studios founder Joe McNaney (aka “lawl”) and director Alex Orrelle.
Charlie Curtis-Beard lends his voice to "mfer" in this fast-paced, meme-laced satire. The story follows a mid-20s man-child adrift in a surreal, algorithm-driven reality, exploring what it means to grow up while being terminally online.
Alex Orrelle, Co-Creator & Showrunner says: "'The Normal MFer' is the show we wish we had in our twenties—absurd, heartfelt, and painfully accurate. It’s about growing up in a world that keeps moving the goalposts, and still trying to make peace with who you are. Making it with the brilliant weirdos at CC0 Studios has been a hilarious and deeply personal ride."
Produced by CC0 Studios and animated by The Hive Studio, "The Normal MFer" combines web-native absurdity with real emotional depth. The story centres around mfer’s chaotic inner world, shaped by endless influencer advice, AI overlords, and hustle culture.
Amit Russell Gicelter, Founder and CEO of The Hive Studio adds: "The team is super excited to work on this unique and original content. We believe that this show speaks to a Gen-z audience that needs content that they can relate to and developing it with cc0 studios and Alex Orrelle as showrunner has been an incredible inspiring indie adventure!"
The series is directed by Alex Orrelle, ("Finding Nemo"). Animation is led by The Hive Studio, the acclaimed international studio helmed by Oscar-nominated producer Amit R. Gicelter.
The voice cast features TikTok star and rapper Charlie Curtis-Beard as mfer, with Ryan Bartley and Rick Zieff as his overbearing parents. Emma Steiger voices Leaf. The music includes contributions from indie artists across the globe, with original tracks by Ritviz (India), Brevin Kim (US), Myles Lloyd (Canada), Cherry Ferrari (US), Charlie Curtis-Beard (US), and Kennyflowers (US), reinforcing the show’s global and genre-fluid identity.
Writers include Jennifer Skelly, Yotam Perel, YouTuber @lazypillow, Alexandra Shields, and Yair Vurnbrand.
