Fremantle has sealed a premium streaming bundle deal with AMC+, which will inlcude the launch of Niccolo Ammaniti’s "Anna" on the platform in the US. The dark, atmospheric six-part series is set to premier on Thursday, 18th November of this year. “We are thrilled to be working with AMC+ to bring Niccolo’s visionary tale, Anna, to an international audience," Lisa Honig, Senior EVP International Distribution at Fremantle said.

Created and directed by Ammaniti, "Anna" is inspired by the one of the author’s most popular novels to date, published in Italy by Einaudi.  Serving as a Sky Original series commissioned by Sky Studios for Sky Italia, the series is produced by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli with Lorenzo Gangarossa for Wildside, in collaboration with ARTE France, Fremantle, The New Life Company, and Kwaï, and with additional help of Creative Europe – Media Programme of the European Union. “We’re excited to partner with Fremantle to bring AMC+ subscribers this visionary series from acclaimed filmmaker and novelist Niccolò Ammaniti,” said Courtney Thomasma, general manager of AMC+.

In a deserted location, Anna must survive using a guide left by her mother before succumbing to a deadly virus that wiped out all adults, and only spared children."Utterly mesmerizing, Anna is a contemporary fable about battling adversity in a post-apocalyptic world," Honig said. "This stunning, atmospheric production raises universal issues of love, loss, heartbreak, and hope, and showcases a brilliant cast of fresh talent. We can’t wait to take the AMC+ audience on this journey."

Newcomer Giulia Dragotto plays the lead role of the teenager who sets off in search of her kidnapped brother, Astor, played by kid actors Alessandro Pecorella. “With a riveting adaptation of a beloved novel, extraordinary production values, and a post-virus world that is eerily all too relatable, Anna is a unique addition to the type of innovative, international content that we’re continuing to curate for AMC+ subscribers," Thomasma said.
