The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and CBC Sports have announced that Canada’s Olympic Network will provide extensive coverage of all PTO Tour events in 2022, live and free-to-all via CBC Sports digital platforms: CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app.

Starting with the first-ever PTO Canadian Open in Edmonton next month - which will also be featured as part of CBC Sports weekend programming on CBC TV - CBC Sports coverage will include the PTO Canadian Open, Edmonton, AB, Canada (July 23-24); the second edition of the Collins Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia (August 20); the PTO US Open in Dallas, Texas, US (September 17-18) and preview shows and highlights packages before/after each PTO Tour event.

Tim Godfrey, PTO CMO, said: “The new PTO Tour is all about putting the amazing exploits and compelling stories of the world’s best triathletes onto the screens of more sports fans around the world. We can’t wait to get things under way in Edmonton next month, which is why this deal with CBC Sports to show our first-ever PTO Canadian Open live across channels is so important.”

The PTO is a new body co-owned by the professional athletes, seeking to grow the sport and take it to the next level. PTO World #10, Paula Findlay, said: “This is a very unique and special opportunity to race a major PTO event in my hometown. I grew up training on this race course as a kid, so to come back to race on it in 2022 and share it with the sport’s biggest names is very cool. It’s absolutely a race that you don’t want to miss.”
