Starz, a Lionsgate company, announced that Starzplay, its international premium streaming service, is now available on Claro in Brazil. The launch represents the arrival of Starzplay on the largest content distribution platform in the country and a significant growth marker for the service in Brazil since launching in 2019.

During the first opening month, anyone who subscribes to the service through Claro will receive a 50% discount in the monthly amount of R$ 14.90 for three months. Claro's Pay TV customers will be able to subscribe to the Starzplay service through the decoder, on channel 250, or directly through Now.

The new content option via streaming will be available to Claro's Pay TV customers through Now, to watch whenever and wherever they want, on TV or in the NOW app, which can also be accessed on the subscribers’ smartphones, tablets, and computers. Soon, Starzplay will also be available to customers of the new streaming service that Claro prepares, an option to access content through broadband, with all the convenience and practicality that streaming offers.

Starzplay provides Claro users with access to an exclusive line-up of thousands of blockbuster movie titles as well as a deep slate of television series that includes two of this season’s hottest global hits, the genre-bending series “The Great,” starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, and the compulsive modern love story, “Normal People.” In addition, Starz original series come to Starzplay the same day they air in the U.S. and include the breakout hit “P-Valley,” the highly-anticipated Starz original series “Power Book II: Ghost,” starring Oscar-nominee Mary J. Blige, and Part Two of “The Spanish Princess.”

“Partnering with Claro, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Brazil, allows Starzplay to strengthen our penetration in market and give even more subscribers access to our massive library of original series and curated content,” said Superna Kalle, Executive Vice President, International Digital Networks for Starz. “We look forward to deepening our relationship with Brazilian viewers through Claro who shares our commitment to providing audiences with exceptional content paired with a premium user experience.”

“This is yet another important movement at Claro, further strengthening our content and entertainment offer to our customers”, says Fernando Magalhães, Director of Programming and Content at Claro. "We seek to aggregate channels, on-demand programming, and apps from the largest and best content producers in the world, with the greatest variety, quality, and experience".
