Disney+ is expanding consumer access to its lower-priced ad-supported plans in Europe with the rollout of the “Standard with Ads,” “Standard” and “Premium” plans in Finland, Holland and Portugal beginning October 17 and priced from €5.99 ($6.65). The ad-supported option is already available in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
“The strong momentum of our ad-supported plan, following its launch last year, underscores the importance of providing consumers with choice, flexibility, and value,” stated Deborah Armstrong, SVP, General Manager Media Networks and Advertising EMEA & Country Manager UK & Ireland.
Armstrong said the streamer has established marketing pacts with L’Oréal Paris, which is sponsoring Series 5 of “The Kardashians”; Uber One, which is collaborating with FX on “The Bear” in the United Kingdom; and Chloé fragrances, which is supporting the French original “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” across five countries.
“As we expand into additional markets, Disney+ continues to offer advertisers a prime opportunity to engage with our premium-streaming platform, featuring our beloved brands and an exceptional line-up of movies and TV series,” Armstrong added.
