Netflix invests in a long-term lease agreement with Longcross Studios

Through its partnership with the studio credited with legendary title series such as James Bond, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Star Wars franchise, the streamer intends to create approximately 5,000 jobs and help approximately 1,000 people get a jump start to their creative career.

Netflix recently announced a long-term leasing deal with Longcross Studios in the UK. The streamer intends to garner more partnerships with British creators following the success of various other titles made in the area, such as “The Crown,” “Sex Education” and “Top Boy,” and films such as “The Dig” and “Rebecca.”  “We are excited to lay down roots at these two studios and continue bringing great British series and films to our members around the world,” the streamer states.

The company's spending total this year will amount to more than $1 billion for new series, films, unscripted titles and documentaries. In addition to creating an estimated 5,000 jobs, the company also hopes to train and kickstart  the career of up to 1,000 people through its Grow Creative UK training program, which prioritizes the growth of armrging British talent and creatives, especially those with diverse backgrounds. The initiative is a clear indicator of the platform's efforts to produce High End TV and Film in the region.

Through its partnership with the hit studio, credited with legendary title series such as James Bond, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Star Wars franchise, the company plans to build sound stages, studios, and production facilities to the capabilities of production, create hundreds of new jobs and strenghten the local economy.

With plans to appreciate settings, such as Bath used to film  “Bridgerton” and the North Pennines Area used to film “The Witcher."
