LGBTQ+ television and streaming service, OUTtv confirmed plans to launch a linear channel in South Africa, on Openview Ultra, a new Pay TV offering from Openview. “We want to bring OUTtv’s original, life-affirmingly queer content to communities across the globe, and we’re excited to now have a permanent home in South Africa with Openview, after two successful limited runs in the territory," Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv, said. "We know this market is ready for diverse, inclusive storytelling, and we look forward to making our content available.”

OUTtv will be available as part of the Ultraview Pride Bouquet. Viewers will first be offered a free three-day trial, and later be charged a ZAR 74.99 monthly fee. The subscription can be cancelled at anytime. Openview is currently activated in over 3 million homes across South Africa, while OUTtv is available in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on its website. The OUTtv Apple TV Channel is available in the USA and Canada, the OUTtv Amazon Prime Channel is available in Canada and Australia, and OUTtv is available on The Roku Channel in the USA. OUTtv’s broadcast service is also available on Canadian cable and satellite services.

OUTtv viewers on Ultraview will be able to access a catalog of OUTtv originals such as “Call Me Mother," “Hot Haus”, hosted by Tiffany “New York” Pollard, and the racy dance and entertainment contest “GoGo For The Gold." Also available on OUTtv is British quirky makeover series “Drag SOS” and reality dating show “Finding Prince Charming”. The channel additionally houses a documentary strand OutSpoken, featuring a series of one-hour documentaries made by a mix of new and established LGBTQ+ filmmakers. The new launch on Openview Ultra follows the success of pop-up channels in 2018 and 2020 on DSTv and Showmax. OUTtv also announced Openview’s subscription service Ultraview launch, as a permanent 24-hour linear channel. The channel launched on 6th March 2023, and will be available to Openview channel 241.

“Call Me Mother” follows three drag legends: Miss Peppermint, Crystal and Barbada de Barbades adopt the next generation of drag artists into their new drag houses, mentoring them through the mother of all drag competitions. In addition to the house mothers, Entertainment Tonight Canada personality Dallas Dixon hosts the series, currently in its second season on OUTtv channels. “Hot Haus” is a queer sex-positive reality series, which has been greenlit for a second season by OUTtv. Hosted by reality TV icon, Tiffany “New York” Pollard with celebrity judges Matthew Camp and Nicky Monet, Hot Haus follows a group of queer sex-positive performers and content creators as they compete for the title of Queer Sex Symbol, and a cash prize. “GoGo For The Gold” follows 12 Gogo boys from across the US as they descend on Hollywood to compete for $10,000 and the title of 'America's #1 Champion Gogo Superstar....Star.' Hosted by Jonny McGovern, the contestants are judged by a panel of Gogo experts and compete in challenges to find out who stays and who go-goes home.
