Sky Broadband now offers the UK’s fastest broadband speeds from any major provider, following the launch of its new Full Fibre 2.5 Gigafast+ and Full Fibre 5 Gigafast+ packages. These new offerings aim to deliver a superior home connectivity experience.
The 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps speeds will be powered by the new Gigafast+ hub, Sky’s most advanced broadband hub to date. It utilizes WiFi 7 technology, which delivers speeds twice as fast as WiFi 6. Whether for remote working, 4K streaming, or gaming, customers can expect next-level performance that meets the demands of modern digital households.
This launch represents a key milestone in Sky’s full fibre rollout, made possible through its long-term partnership with CityFibre, announced in 2024. This collaboration merges CityFibre’s growing full fibre network—reaching 4.5 million premises—with Sky’s broadband expertise, expanding high-speed connectivity to more UK homes, including hard-to-reach areas.

These new high-speed plans join Sky Broadband’s existing full fibre range, available through both Openreach and CityFibre networks. Developed in collaboration with Comcast, this is the first global WiFi device jointly launched by Comcast and Sky. The tri-band Gigafast+ hub intelligently manages internet traffic to minimize congestion among connected devices. It also includes two 10 Gbps ethernet ports (one WAN, one LAN), allowing for high-speed direct connections ideal for heavy streamers or users downloading large files.
Beyond performance, the Gigafast+ hub debuts a modern cylindrical design, complete with a sleek laser-etched label and a textured white finish—bringing a contemporary look to the connected home.
