The CEE Animation team announced the launch of a new activity called “CEE Animation Experience” on December 2. This new scheme comprises a series of one-day masterclasses organized in cooperation with selected film festivals in the CEE region. It targets animation industry professionals and students, presenting a wide variety of topics delivered by the best regional and European experts. The masterclasses will focus on the development of presented projects and will be open to the public and streamed online.

Furthermore, the team organizers announced that the winning project of Anim'est, the Bucharest International Animation Film Festival, which is starting on November 9, will receive accreditation to CEE Animation Forum 2021 and other services from the organization. The next two months will also be marked by a special emphasis on Polish animation, studios, projects, and the work of SPPA - Stowarzyszenie Producentów Polskiej Animacji (Association of Polish Animation Producers).

Moreover, in mid-November, CEE Animation is releasing a call for submissions to the CEE Animation Forum 2021, and therefore, this year’s pitching videos will be available again for a few days.

The CEE Animation Forum ended successfully almost a month ago. This year, the pitching competition included 28 animated films in development – ten shorts, nine TV series, six features and three XR projects from 16 different countries. The projects competed for four jury awards, one audience award and two training scholarships, while four of them were awarded accreditation to a direct selection into one of several different animation pitching or market events.

Although usually held in the Czech Republic parallel to Anifilm International Animated Film Festival, this year the CEE Animation Forum had to adapt to a hybrid form and was thus partly held online between October 6-8. Apart from online events, the event streamed pitchings to physical locations at Anifilm, International Animated Film Festival in Liberec, Czech Republic and to two universities - one in Bratislava, Slovakia and the other in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
