Winners of the 5th annual ContentAsia Awards – and the first to be held in Taiwan – were announced at a live+live-streamed ceremony in Taipei on 5 September. Winners came from 13 countries/regions – China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, as well as regional Asia services – representing TV broadcast and production leaders, streamers and online platforms.
Hosted by Taiwan’s popular DJ Dennis with DJ Bryan for KC Global Media’s AXN as Red Carpet Host, the 2024 Awards Ceremony & Party was attended by guests from the entertainment industry across Asia, and streamed live on Facebook.
The ContentAsia Awards celebration party was hosted by Trendy Taipei, a week-long mega multi-national festival involving music, entertainment and tech. KC Global Media’s AXN is the ContentAsia Awards’ official broadcast partner. More than 140 programmes were nominated across 27 categories in the 5th annual ContentAsia Awards, highlighting premium video content and talent achievements across multiple platforms in the Asia region.
This year’s categories include Best TV Drama Series for both local and regional audiences, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Game Show, Best Original Song and Best Factual Entertainment Programme. More than 500 entries from 13 countries/territories in Asia were submitted for the ContentAsia Awards this year, a record for the five-year-old event.
The nominees were chosen by more than 75 jury members, hand-picked from across industry sectors in Asia and around the world. ContentAsia Awards’ President, Janine Stein indicated that the event aims to shine a spotlight on the state of content production in Asia: “The quality of Asia’s original production continues to go from strength to strength. The industry in Asia has not, of course, been immune to global shifts, which are challenging everyone in multiple ways. However, producers, storytellers and platforms clearly remain committed to serving a wide range of consumers, continuing to develop their creative voice and muscle with authentic Asian stories across a broad range of genres and formats. We are honoured to be able to recognise and shine a spotlight on the amazing talent and works that we have in Asia,” commented.
