Red Arrow Studios International recently revealed its slate of new unscripted formats for Mipcom 2022. "As we gear up for Mipcom 2022, it’s fantastic to share the wide-ranging slate of unscripted formats we’ll be bringing to the market, which is very much in keeping with the noisy, innovative and watercooler shows that buyers have come to expect from us," Tim Gerhartz, President and Managing Director at Red Arrow Studios International, said. "Across the titles, we hope to offer something to suit all buyers and scheduling needs – ranging from the high-stakes of Love for the Ages, the addictive game of cat and mouse in Claim to Fame, right through to the heart-warming 'Old People’s Home for Teenagers.'”
Ranging from reality, to social experiements and factual entertainment, the catalog includes "Love for the Ages," originally produced by Kinetic Content for Tplus (US). The romance format tells the story of three middle-aged married couples, each at a crossroad in their relationships, attempt to inject some youthful energy back into their lives by swapping their spouses for partners 20 years younger. Alongside this is new primetime reality series Claim to Fame, in which 12 ordinary people with famous relatives are challenged to keep their identities secret while exposing the others one-by-one. The format is also originally produced by Kinetic Content for ABC (US) and successfully aired this Summer.
The company has also secured the rights to "Hold the Front Page" from CPL Productions for Sky Max (UK). In this new factual entertainment format, two celebrities set off around the country in search of scoops, scandals and surprising stories as they explore the unique and often sensational world of local news. Also featuring is "Old People’s Home for Teenagers," a compelling new social experiment and spinoff to the multi award-winning "Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds." The new format is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for ABC (Australia) and will see older adults brought together with teenagers in an attempt to transform their lives and combat their shared sense of social exclusion and loneliness.
Further highlights include radical new reality format "My New Mystery Job," produced by Stepping Stone Productions for NPO3 in the Netherlands, which sees a group of participants sign up for a career change – without knowing what it is! The slate will also feature a social experiment format produced by Deutsche ProduktionsUnion (DPU) for ProSieben in Germany, titled The X Experiment that follows a well-respected and credible presenter as they set out to explore contemporary, socially relevant issues by pushing themselves to the limit in extreme investigations. Rounding out the unscripted offering is Celebrity Career Challenge from Redseven Entertainment for ProSieben (Germany), a travel and adventure primetime challenge format that puts teams of celebrities to the test as they attempt to learn new jobs in a different country.
