Mipcom 2023: Atresmedia's "Nights in Tefía" nominated for the Diversify TV Awards

Atresplayer original series, "Nights in Tefía's," translated as "Las Noches de Tefia," has been nominated for the Mipcom Diversity TV Awards in the script category for best LGTBIQA+ visibility. With the finalists announced on 21st September, the awards ceremony will be held in Cannes next October.

Premiered last June on atresplayer, "Nights in Tefía," translated as "Las Noches de Tefía," received recognition at the Malaga Festival when it was shown to viewers for the first time, receivingpositive feedback from the specialised media throughout its broadcasting on the platform. The title is a production of Buendía Estudios Canarias with the participation of Atresmedia Televisión.

The fiction, which can be seen exclusively on ATRESplayer Premium, is produced by Sonia Martínez, who serves as executive producer and Montse García as director of Fiction at Atresmedia. Miguel del Arco and Antonio Rojano have written the script and Miguel del Arco himself and Rómulo Aguillaume aredirecting. The technical team includes Marta Miró as Production Director, Jon Aguirresarobe and Iván Caso as Director of Photography, Coque F. Lahera as Head of Sound, César Macarrón as Art Director, Sandra Espinosa as Costume Designer, Paty López Lopez Lopez as Head of Make-up and Paco Rodríguez as Head of Hairdressing. Arnau Vilà has written the soundtrack and Antonio Ruz has created the choreography. Conchi Iglesias is the casting director.

The original soundtrack is composed by Arnau Vilà, whose career has always been linked to the world of television; in fact, he is the musical director of "Tu cara me suena,"a program on Antena 3. The Catalan musician has also stood out for his compositions and theatre productions such as "Ricardo III," "Antígona y Peregrinos" and "Refugio." Created by Miguel del Arco, playwright, scriptwriter, director and one of the most influential voices on the Spanish tv and theatre scene, "Nights in Tefía" narrates one
of the most unknown episodes in Spanish history: the Francoist concentration camp that existed between the 50s and 60s where those condemned under the Law of Vagrants and Thugs were held and force into forced labors.

The title was filmed on location in Tenerife and Madrid. The large cast of the series consists of Marcos Ruiz, Patrick Criado, Miquel Fernández, Israel Elejalde, Roberto Álamo, Jorge Perugorría, Carolina Yuste, Raúl Prieto, Javier Ruesga, Luifer Rodríguez, Jorge Usón, Mingo Ávila, Jorge Yumar, Ana Wagener, Ciro Miró, José Luis García- Pérez, José Luís de Madariaga, Celeste González, Horacio Colomé, Maykol Hernández, Isaac dos Santos, José Gimeno, Elisa Cano and Ruth Trujillo, among others.
