More than 170 leading executives have started judging in the inaugural Rose d’Or Latinos Awards, with the finalists to be announced on 11 December and an Awards Gala Ceremony to take place on the evening of Tuesday, 23 January during Content Americas in Miami. “This first Rose d’Or Latinos is set to be a celebration of an amazingly creative community, with shows from the Latin American, US Hispanic, Spanish and Portuguese markets competing for Gold," Chairman of this year’s awards, Marcos Santana, said. "We are delighted by the number of programs entered and so impressed with the quality and diversity of the programming on offer in the market. Deciding on the winners will be very difficult."
Nearly 300 entries were received across 11 categories, with representation from all major producers, platforms and channels across LatAm, US Hispanic, Spain and Portugal. A month of intense judging will now take place, with the finalists announced on 11December. The awards are related to the Rose d’Or Awards, which have been celebrating the best in international programming since 1961. “We are proud to have assembled an amazing 170+ strong jury, made up of the most influential executives in the sector," Santana said. "They now have a month to decide on the winners. I would like to add my personal thanks to everyone involved. I am looking forward to coming together with the whole community for a fantastic gala celebration during Content Americas.”
