Series Mania 2025: French-Canadian series "Empathy" selected in the international competition

The title produced by Trio Orange is the very first French-Canadian series entirely produced in Québec to compete at the largest event.

The French-Canadian "Empathy" (10x43 minutes), produced by Trio Orange, has been selected in the international competition at the Series Mania Festival (Lille / France – March 21 to 28, 2025), marking the first time a French-Canadian series entirely produced in Québec to compete at the largest event.

Written and performed by Florence Longpré, "Empathy" will be available on April 10th on Crave (Bell Media) in Canada and tells the story of Suzanne (Florence Longpré), a gifted former criminologist turned psychiatrist, who begins her new role at Mont-Royal Psychiatric Institute.

"Empathy'" is the very first French-Canadian series entirely produced in Québec to compete at the largest event entirely dedicated to series in Europe, which will be held in Lille from March 21 to 28, 2025.

For her new series "Empathy", Florence Longpré teams up with director Guillaume Lonergan ("Can you hear me? 3". In his first appearance in a French-Canadian series, Thomas Ngijol, the French comedian and actor, plays the leading role of Mortimer who becomes friend with Suzanne (Florence Longpré) at the Mont-Royal psychological institute in Montreal.
