TV France's 16th International 2020 Export Awards will be revealed by Hervé Michel and Sarah Hemar on Monday 7 September at 12:00. Three distributors who have specialized in large sales in Fiction, Documentary, and Animation, will be acknowledged. “Given the Covid 19 crisis, we, unfortunately, had to forego the event this year, even though it’s very close to our hearts,” Hervé Michel, President of TV France International, said. “And with all the uncertainties weighing any possible organization of a ceremony before the end of the year, we have decided, in consultation with Procirep, to reveal our 16th The Export Awards at the Rendez-Vous Bi@rritz 2020, our emblematic annual market.”
The export awards were originally set to have been made at the Procirep French TV Television Producer Awards ceremony, of which TV France International is a partner, on 6 April at the Trianon / Elysée Montmartre. The decision to unveil the awards at the Rendez-Vous Bi@rritz 2020, the company’s annual mark, was made with the help of Procirep.
There are a total of 9 programs for which 9 distributors are nominated for the 2020 Export Awards, ranging from established shows which continue to find new international outlets to brand- new original shows and fine adaptations, . “In this very particular year, we thought it would be natural to combine these two high points in our calendar,” said Sarah Hemar, Executive Director of TV France International. “And also make the most of the digital platform we have developed for the Rendez- Vous 2020, to turn the Export Awards into a digital event, giving us the freedom to showcase them with screenings of the programs our 3 members are being recognized for.”
Federation Kids & Family is a nominee for its work distributing “The Ollie & Moon Show,” Mediatoon Distribution for “The Fox-Badger Family” and Xilam Animation for “Oggy and the Cockroaches.” The three shows will debut on the Rendez-Vous Bi@rritz 2020 platform on Monday 7 at 15.30, Tuesday 8 also at 15.30 and Wednesday 9 September at 12.30. Other nominees include ZED for “The secret Versailles of Marie-Antoinette,” The Party Sales for “Cinema Through the Eye of Magnum” and ARTE Distribution for The Birth of Printing, the Guntenberg Revolution.”
