In the frame of Unifrance-Rendez-Vous in Biarritz, MIAM! distribution showed to global buyers its new projects for children and young adult audiences. "It's a very lovely opportunity for us to be in Biarritz. It's great to see the buyers before MIPCOM and to launch our content before Cannes market," asserted Mélanie Errea, head of sales at the French distributor. One of the MIAM! distribution highlights is the 2D comedy for young kids "The MiniWhats” (52x7’), produced by Silex films and doncvoilà productions, commissioned by France Télévisions and RTBF. "The show is available now and is about to be launched on France 5 in October 2023," she said. MIAM! distribution is also presenting the new serialized adventure series “Our Summer of Freedom” (6x26’ or 3x52’), for kids 7+ and families, produced by Darjeeling and commissioned by FTV, RTBF and VRT (Belgium). The series, available in Q4 2024, "It's a 2D original creation co-written by the very famous novelist Alice Zeniter," she detailed.

Targeting to young adults, MIAM! distribution is promoting the feminist 2D series “It's My Body” (20x3’30’’), produced by Magneto Presse and 2Minutes, as well as “Boys, Boys, Boys” (10x5’), 2D series produced by Melting Prod and Take Five productions. "Both series were commissioned by ARTE and are available now", commented Errea.

HOW TO STAND OUT?
Currently kids and young audiences are a difficult target to maintain because they have some many distractions with video games, social media, e-sports, etc. Errea affirmed that MIAM! tries to differentiate by offering additional content. "We don't just offer them a TV series, but we also offer them a whole ecosystem," she explained. The executive said that MIAM! has created a complementary strategy for "Edmond and Lucy," its real-time 3D MIAM! animation first in-house series. "We have launched first the 52 episodes of 12 minutes TV show, but after we released an additional education series called 'Edmond and Lucy +' (13x3') for LUMNI, the educational platform of France TV and we also made a 5 x7 minutes podcast for OKOO," Errea affirmed.

NEW CHALLENGES
In 2023, the company started the production of "The Tinies", its second in-house realtime CGI TV series. "We are actually working on the pre-sales for that show that is going to be available in 2025," she anticipated.

In terms of distribution, MIAM! is quite active in the acquisition of new series. "Our goal is really to have one or two new launches per year and to watch very well each title to have a specific launching and to not have a crowd of content where people will get lost. On the contrary, we prefer to select very carefully our content, and we may announce a new acquisition for Mipcom," she concluded.
