Alan Green, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at OneTwoThree Media, introduces “Legionario”, a powerful drama that blends Colombia’s recent history with universal themes of brotherhood, conflict, and redemption.
The film follows two brothers raised in FARC rebel camps after their parents were killed by paramilitaries. When peace is declared, their lives take very different paths: one joins the French Foreign Legion, erasing his past and leaving Colombia behind, while the other remains with FARC until he decides to cooperate with the police in hopes of building a new life for his family. When he goes missing, his brother returns from France to uncover the truth — confronting their shared past and the violent legacy of the rebellion. “It’s a very powerful story, deeply tied to Colombia’s history,” said Green. “It may be a sensitive subject locally, but it’s also a story that can travel around the world. That’s what makes it so interesting.”

The project stands out for its international perspective: the director is British but based in Colombia, and the cast includes actors from Colombia and Argentina. “It’s got strong local roots but a global sensibility,” Green explained. “That combination gives it great potential for international audiences.”
“Legionario” has not yet been released in Colombia and is currently seeking distribution partners across Latin America and beyond. “It’s technically a British production, but it feels entirely Colombian,” Green noted. “We’re looking for the right partners to help give the film the visibility it deserves.”

Shot mainly in Spanish, with some French dialogue, the film was granted rare access to shoot inside French Foreign Legion facilities, adding authenticity to its military setting. Green also praised the young filmmakers behind the project, Eric and David Cummings: “It’s a brotherhood effort — they’re very young and did everything: found the financing, directed, even acted in it. They’re really very talented.”
