RUSSIAN ANIMATION STUDIO MECHTALЁT PRESENTS “BACK-TO-BACK”

Mechtalёt is a young Russian animation studio witches animated projects are very inspired by the Asian culture. "Our 'Back-to-Back' project is very similar to the Asian one. We didn't do it on purpose. We just drew images that we thought would appeal to children. Perhaps our territorial proximity to the countries of Japan, China and South Korea has influenced this, we understand their cultural code and it converges a little," commented Ilya Kuznetsov, studio producer at Mechtalёt, to Señal News.

The 'Back-to-Back' series tells the audience about backpack-buddies, who will happily slip away as soon as people leave them unattended. Their life is very similar to the adventures in a kids' game but the backpack' friendship, experiences and daily little deeds are all real. The project is designed for children 5-9 years old and the 26 episodes are ready for spring 2021.

Mechtalёt just started with its first projects. "We're at the start. We're loaded. We don't have a blinkered eye. No one taught us how to make cartoons, because animation is not taught in the universities of the Russian Far East, so we have a chance to bring something new to this art form," expressed Kuznetsov.
 
Currently, the Russian animation studio has a couple of animated series in development as well as the company has taken up the development of a full-length animated film in the style of Miyazaki, dedicated to the development of the lands of the Russian Far East.

For the rest of the year, Mechtalёt is expected to run the project "Back-to-Back" in 10 countries around the world and produce half of the second season and also to prepare a teaser for a feature film about the Far East.

"Our country has a lot of creators, a rich culture. Russians put their heart and soul into any business, and children in all countries of the world can't help but feel this", stated the producer.
