Marking Filmlance’s expansion into original comedy, "Popular Problems" brings together acclaimed creators Sissela Benn and Jonatan Unge. The 6x30’ series, set to premiere on SVT in 2026, explores the comic tension of post-breakup co-parenting.
Globally distributed by Banijay Rights, the emotionally-driven series has sold to markets including France, Australia and the US. The news comes as Göteborg Film Festival TV Drama Vision gets under way.
The show is a co-production between C More, TV4, Film i Skåne, and Filmlance, in collaboration with ZDF, is produced by Filmlance’s Anna Wallmark, and Lisa Dahlberg serves as executive producer at C More and TV4.
Nordic Entertainment Group and Filmlance International, a Banijay company, are partnering with The Astrid Lindgren Company to adapt Astrid Lindgren’s world-famous story “Ronja the Robber’s Daughter” into a major Viaplay Original.
The series, based on the best-selling novels, is set to be developed into a Swedish drama. The trilogy has sold millions of copies in Sweden and has been translated in several European languages.
