Two in three (66%) TV content viewers are using free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platforms in a typical month, according to Horowitz Research’s latest annual report, "State of Media, Entertainment, and Tech: Viewing Behaviors 2024."
Parks Associates and Adeia’s latest white paper describes how vMVPD services are augmenting – and in some cases replacing – traditional pay TV services as the primary source of innovative advertising-based business models.
Excluding vMVPDs, which deliver live TV over the internet, pay TV will decline 7.2% this year to 66.4 million households, eMarketer revealed in its latest report. That figure will drop to 54.3 million households by the end of 2026.
Sports live streaming TV service FuboTV reached a new carriage agreement with Univision that will keep the Spanish-language content on the virtual MVPD platform.
Herring will lead the pay-TV distribution for linear networks for all markets outside of the U.S and distribute ViX to MVPDs. Fernando Muniz, General Director of Sales for Televisa Networks and Televisa International, will transition out of the company by mid-May.
