Experienced and emerging creatives have been selected for a three-month program that includes an in person workshop, online masterclasses and a grant of up to $20,000 to develop their projects.

Episode 3 of "Tales from Outer Suburbia" will screen at the Annecy Animated Film Festival, being the first time any of the series will be seen publicly. The series is being produced by a team of Australian producers, including the Oscar-winning duo Shaun Tan and producer Sophie Byrne, and will air on the ABC in Australia and BYU in the USA.

The title is an original SLR Productions’ programme, co-produced with Giggle Garage; commissioned by ABC Australia; financed by Screen Australia and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation. ZDF Studios is the international distributor excluding Australia and New Zealand which is handled by ACTF.

The initiative offers workshops, masterclasses, and funding opportunities to guide participants in crafting innovative children’s content. Applications open September 19.

Based on hit novel with the same name and finaced by ACTF, the films is distributed locally and internationally by Studiocanal.
