This year’s Natpe’s virtual session, “The Power Of Local Television,” brought in executives from NBCUniversal, CBS, Scripps, and Sinclair Broadcast Group, among others, to discuss the continued need for local TV, the rise of multicasting, and strategies recently used by media giants to overcome the hardships produced by the pandemic.

The Arabic adaptation, produced by TVision and commissioned as an OSN Original, serves as the latest international adaptation for the format. It will soon debut on FTA channels and Ramadan 2022 on 2nd April.

The initiative will be led by veteran sales and production executive, Leslie Jones, who has spent most of her corporate career maintaining executive positions at NBCUniversal, including International Sales and Format Production.

Comcast reported its fourth-quarter 2021 earnings, beating Wall Street’s expectations on both revenue and earnings. NBCUniversal revenue was US$9.3 billion, up 25.6% from Q4 2020, and studio sales were up more than 36%.

Sky and NBCUniversal announced the continued rollout of Peacock internationally on Sky, with Germany and Austria following the November launches in the UK and Ireland.
