In order to guarantee an optimal reception of participants and the public next autumn, the organising teams of Sportel and the Grimaldi Forum are working together, ensuring that the necessary arrangements are made, in compliance with the governmental preventative health measures in force.

The event, which pulls in an average of 130,000 participants each year, was originally scheduled for 23-26 July of this year, but has now been rescheduled for 22-25 July of 2021. Registrants can either receive a refund or use their badges for Comic-Con 2021. Smaller conventions, such as WonderCon and the opening of Comic-con International's museum, Comic-con museum, have also been postponed.

The decision was discussed with the World Health Organization, as well as the Canadian and Albertan government and influenced by a reunion that addressed the Covid-19 Production Industry Taskforce. Participants who paid to attend the event will have the option to transfer their next registration to next year's event or receive a full refund.

The summit day includes a rich program of conferences with key speakers to talk about the main changes in the sector and the resulting regulatory changes.

More than 2,200 international delegates took part in the 2020 Summit, with significant growth from Europe and North America.
