The licensing agreement for the five-part limited time series, produced by Red Production Company and commissioned by Channel 4 and HBO Max, serves as the most recent acquisition on behalf of the service.
The changes will occur when current agreements expire at the end of this year and next year. The goal of the agreement is to focus on original programming by, about and for women and underrepresented viewers.
The series will air on the network in the U.S. and Canada and on its international streaming platform Starzplay across Europe, Latin America and Japan.
The comprehensive effort advocates for programming by, about and for women and other underrepresented groups. The network will also host a series of monthly “Transparency Talks” with crucial leaders and members of important organizations.
The multi-year agreement with one of the world's largest Japanese anime providers opens doors for Starzplay to offer this highly popular entertainment form.
