NBCUniversal's AVOD service has reached more than 26 million signups, nailing down its business plan of offering either a free or cheaper alternative to pricey rival streaming platforms.
Created by award-winning writer Michael Lucas and with ADG award-winning Emma Freeman attached to direct, the show will be lead by is Anna Torv, Sam Reid, Robert Taylor, and Stephen Peacocke.
The service received seven million subscriptions following an app distribution agreement with Roku. Comcast has garnered 633,000 high-speed Internet customers and 556,000 total net customers.
The number of OTT services has doubled since 2014's figure. A recent partnership was recently established between NBCUniversal and Roku to distribute the new streaming service Peacock.
The streaming service attracted 17% of all new VOD subscriptions in the US in the three months ended in September. Hulu showed massive growth at 10%. Apple TV, however, performed poorly at 4.9%.
