Gyokuro Studio based in Tokyo is a newly established studio that aims to develop 10 unscripted titles each year, reaching a total of 100 titles over the next 10 years, with plans to distribute them to audiences worldwide.
The announcement was made by Sayako Aoki, Head of International Sales at Nippon TV, and Massimo Righini and Fabio Nesi, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer, respectively, at Casta Diva Pictures.
Fremantle has picked up the format for co-distribution, with Nippon TV distributing in Asia (excluding Indonesia, India and Singapore), and Fremantle distributing in rest of world.
The Japanese company to offer two new scripted formats, "The Hot Spot" and "Ensemble", as well as one new unscripted format, "Funny Face Spy", to the international buyers in attendance.
