The film, directed by Colombian filmmaker Harold Trompetero, will debut in North America this September. The deal is intended to give Filmrise a larger theatrical, digital, and broadcasting presence in the regions.
The industry's total gross figures are expected to decline by 20% to $2.3 billion, with only Cinemark showing promising growth with a 2% trade increase. Approximately 70% of total ticket sales will stem from theatrical releases, set to generate $8.2 billion.
Streaming services will be forced to allocate at least 20% of their revenues in France to the financing of French or European works, rising to 25% for platforms offering films less than 12 months after their theatrical release.
In addition to its 8th July debut on more than 600 screens across the region, the film has also secured theatrical premieres in Canada through Cinemaguzzo, as well as Peru and Colombia through Cinecolor.
