One week after the conclusion of the actors’ strike, Netflix announced the cancelation of five shows, including “Shadow and Bone,” a fantasy drama which had once ranked in the streamer’s most-watched list.
The streamer is exploring further testing the live sports programming with a boxing card headlined by Jake Paul and a separate show headlined by fighters from Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions.
The company had five million monthly ad-tier users in May and has been hiking prices on its ad-free options to nudge more subscribers to the other tier, where commercials help bring in more revenue per user.
