The streaming service rebounded in the second calendar quarter of 2021, adding 12.4 million net new subscribers during the period and now totaling 116 million worldwide.
Spend on advertising rose 23.6% to a total of US$157.6 billion in the second quarter of 2021 – a new high for a Q2 period and the strongest rise in over a decade, according to a new WARC Data report.
Total media revenue is estimated to reach $2.6 trillion at a 5% growth rate, while global streaming video revenues are estimated to reach $94 billion by 2025. In addition to the increases, streaming and user-generated content trends have also accelerated.
A 14.5% rebound increase is expected this year, but the $8 billion acquired throughout the year is not expected to roll around in the foreseeable future. Linear TV continues to fluctuate, and political spending has decreased by 12.5% year-over-year.
The industry is projected to garner $240 billion, and 10$ billion in revenue, while ad spending is expected to reach 7.25%, a possible 15% year-over-year increases in Q2 this year in comparison to last year's spending.
