IPTV will add 63 million subscribers between 2021 and 2026 to total 398 million, while cable, on the other hand, will see subscriber numbers fall from 417 million in 2021 to 389 million in 2026, according to Digital TV Research.
Cable TV and direct-to-home (DTH) pay-TV accounts will decline at -0.2% and -0.8% CAGRs between 2020 and 2025 while IPTV accounts are set to grow by 1.1%. Other reasons for the growth include strong cable TV segments and a strong IPTV service focus.
Pay TV service revenue in Indonesia is set to grow from US$497 million in 2020 to US$633 million in 2025, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5%, mainly supported by the growing DTH and IPTV subscriptions, according to GlobalData.
SVOD platform Tencent has picked up rights to "Best Bugs Forever" and "Nate Is Late", which has also been picked up by Chinese IPTV platform Puxin. The company has also closed agreements in North America and France.
