The first Studio of Distinction Award will be presented to BBC Studios in the week that the BBC reaches the milestone of 100 years of public service broadcasting in the UK.
The title has been cleared for national syndication by CBS-owned-and-operated stations, Sinclair Communications, Nexstar Broadcasting, Hearst Television, TEGNA Media, Weigel Broadcasting, Gray Media and Cox Television.
UK broadcasting union Bectu’s members have rejected the latest terms offered by trade body Pact, putting the TV drama agreement they both have in jeopardy.
Following the decision that, regrettably, next year’s event could not be held in Ukraine for safety and security reasons, the EBU explored several options with the winning broadcaster.
The new establishment, valued at £800 million, is set to deliver 20 new purpose-built sound stages with workshops and offices on 82 acres of land to the south of the existing studios, and create over 8,000 new jobs.
