AMC Networks reported financial results for the second quarter, revealing that the group’s streaming revenues increased 13% to US$137 million, primarily driven by year-over-year streaming subscriber growth and 2022 price increases.
AMC Networks announced the appointment of Scott Shooman as Head of its Film Group, encompassing IFC Films, RLJE Films and films for the Shudder streaming service.
Initial broadcasters on board include ZDF for Germany, AMC Networks International for Spain and Portugal, Acorn TV North America for the UK and Ireland and EITB for Spain.
The executive, who currently oversees the company’s programming strategy for the CBS channel portfolio, will be tasked with linear and streaming content strategies across the UK and EMEA, as well as securing content acquisitions and partnerships.
Los Angeles-based independent production and distribution company Nicely Entertainment has acquired international rights in the edgy AllBlk legal drama series “Lace.”
