Season 18 of CBC’s hit show and the most-watched long-running Canadian drama in the country, is now in production in Toronto.

This year marks a significant milestone as the AFM relocates to the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas for the first time. Buyer and attendee participation is also running strong since registration opened in mid-June, with participants from 45 countries already registered. Organizers estimate total participation to come from more than 80 countries.

It will cover Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It will be bundled in with services offered by existing pay TV and streaming operators. Once up and running, Duo One will offer viewers a mixture of on-demand and live channels, with its strongest content subsequently being shown on Duo Media’s thematic channels.

It is based on Skúli Sigurdsson’s award-winning debut novel with actor, producer, screenwriter and ACT4 co-founder Ólafur Darri Ólafsson ("The Tourist", "Severance") at the helm as showrunner and executive producer. ACT4 optioned "Big Brother" last year, seeing it’s potential for the big screen.

The showrunner, writer, producer, film and television director will receive the International Series Nostrum Creator Award in the 4th edition of the Festival.
