Driven by the rising appeal of Anime and Dramas, Japan’s share of non-US franchises on Netflix North America jumped from 13% to 29% between Q2 2022 and Q2 2025, while UK franchises declined from 26% to 17%, according to Ampere Analysis.
According to Ampere Analysis original programming on Netflix averages 5.7 minutes of ads per hour compared to 5.1 minutes for licensed content, highlighting strategic monetization of in-house productions.
