Channel 4 reported a £20 million pre-tax loss in 2023 amid falling ad revenue, prompting a shift in commercial strategy. Its new in-house studio and revised IP terms aim to boost global content value and long-term sustainability.
The Channel 4.0 programming is launching on Spotify this week. Programming from Channel 4.0, its digital-first platform, will be made available to all Spotify users on mobile and desktop apps.
The title is produced by Eagle Eye Drama in cooperation with Beta Film, who also handle worldwide distribution, in association with Happy Duck Films and supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter. PBS Distribution holds the North American rights to "Patience".
The Channel 4 series, now into its second season, has been sold to DR (Denmark), AVROTROS/NPO (Netherlands), SVT (Sweden), Britbox (Australia), BBC UKTV (New Zealand), and SBS (Australia) for a second window in Australia for their daytime schedule.
