BBC Three and BBC Current Affairs announce "Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed the World?," an investigative film intended to teach viewers about the international network overseen by the Tate brothers. "Viewers loved Tahsin and Shea’s illuminating first documentary about Andrew Tate, this film continues their brilliant investigative work and reveals even more about how Tate and his organization operate their global network," Nasfim Haque, Head of Content, BBC Three said.
"Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed the World?," a working title, is commissioned by Nasfim Haque, Head of Content, BBC Three and Joanna Carr, News Controller Long Form Commissioning. The film is directed by Jamie Tahsin and the Executive Producer is Mike Radford. The project marks Tahsin and Shea's second collaboration following the success of award-winning film "The Dangerous Rise of Andrew Tate," a VICE special report which broadcast on BBC Three earlier this year and is one of the BBC’s best performing unscripted acquisitions for 16-34s over the last 18 months to date. The film is available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.
"We have now been investigating Andrew Tate and his inner circle for four years and are almost ready to reveal what we've uncovered," Reporter Matt Shea said. "In this documentary we uncover Tate's global network, which spans multiple continents, affects potentially hundreds of victims, and ultimately seek to discover who is really behind Andrew Tate."
In June, controversial influencer Andrew Tate was charged with rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women. The indictment by Romanian authorities said that Tate, his brother Tristan and two Romanian women formed an organized criminal group in 2021 to commit human trafficking in Romania, and other countries, including the US and UK. They have denied any wrongdoing.
"This is a powerful film which shines a light on the activities of Andrew Tate and those who are working closely with him," Joanna Carr, News Controller, Long Form Commissioning said. "It will help us to understand how and why Andrew Tate is able to influence so many young people in the UK and across the world."
The title will unveil the inner circle behind Andrew Tate, exposing those helping to craft him into a global figurehead, exploring the ideologies and end goal of Tate and his circle, and revealing how his global network has left potentially hundreds of victims in its wake. Investigative reporter Matt Shea and director Jamie Tahsin will take audiences from Romania to Buenos Aires and the US, to understand the scale and nature of Andrew Tate’s influence.
"The documentary is testament to the tenacity and dedication of Matt and Jamie in investigating Andrew Tate and his organization," Mike Radford, Executive Producer of the documentary said. "It’s important that as many people as possible should be made aware of the workings of him and his close associates."
