Calino’s “Woman” was picked up by M6 Group in France

The Medyapim-MF Yapim production broadcasted on Fox Turkey, has secured sales in a total of 70 countries. The deal marks the first time the M6 Group will broadcast a Turkish series on one of their linear channels.

Calinos Entertainment recently sealed a broadcasting deal with RTL-owned M6 Group in France, who will soon air 'Woman.' “We are very excited to announce our new deal for Woman with M6 group in France," Mathilde Escamilla, Senior Acquisitions Manager for the M6 group said ”I am very proud to have negotiated the rights for the first Turkish series ever acquired for the M6 group. We hope “Woman” is as successful in France as in all the other territories where it was aired."

"Woman," produced by Medyapim-MF Yapim, broadcasted on FOX Turkey, will be on air later this year. The agreement serves as the first time the M6 Group will broadcast a Turkish series on one of their linear channels. “With this sale, Calinos has reached a new milestone by reaching the linear TV audience in France,” Jose Luis Gascue, Calinos Entertainment’s EVP and Head of Sales, said. “We trust in the continued success of the show and see endless possibilities going forward.”

According to the International Sales Director of Calinos, Melis Idil, the title has been sold to 70 countries worldwide, garnering positive feedback. "Following the huge success in Spain, we have a great confidence that “Woman” will also be a hit in France as the next Western European market on an M6 Group’s channel," Escamilla said.

It tells the survival story of Bahar, a young widow with two children. Abandoned by her mother when she was eight, Bahar later loses her father and grandmother. When she feels all alone, she meets Sarp, with whom she falls madly in love. After some years of happiness, Bahar loses her husband too, and she is left with only two things that make her hold on to life: her children, Nisan and Doruk. Together, they can identify the positive thing amid their unfortunate circumstances.
