FREMANTLE'S “THE SISTER” REACHES 5.6 MILLION PEOPLE IN ITS UK DEBUT

The series has racked up an impressive 5.6 million viewers (across all opportunities to view) and a 20.7% share, according to the latest consolidated ratings, with the launch episode growing to an audience of 6.9 million viewers.

Fremantle-owned Euston Films scored a Halloween hit with their latest thriller, “The Sister,” which premiered in the UK on ITV last week. The series has racked up an impressive 5.6 million viewers (across all opportunities to view) and a 20.7% share, according to the latest consolidated ratings, with the launch episode growing to an audience of 6.9 million viewers (across all opportunities to view).

After this initial success, Fremantle announced a multitude of global deals for the tense psychological thriller. In detail, “The Sister” has been sold to 75 territories worldwide, including BBC First (Benelux), Czech TV (Czech Republic), Pickbox (Adria region), RTE (EIRE), Salto (France), Cosmote TV (Greece), Syn (Iceland), GO Plc (Malta), Manoto TV (MENA), TV 2 (Norway), Canal+ (Poland) HBO España (Spain) HBO Portugal (Portugal), Viasat (Russia), SVT (Sweden), IPTV/OTT streaming platform TV+ (Turkey), Directv (Latin America), SBS (Australia), and TVNZ (New Zealand). Hulu holds the U.S. rights to the series, and will launch it in January 2021.

This thriller unfolds on one rainy evening, when Nathan, played by Russell Tovey is surprised by an unwelcome face from the past. Nathan has never been able to forget the worst night of his life: a party that led to the sudden, shocking death of a young woman. Only he and Bob, played by Bertie Carvel, an eccentric old acquaintance, know what really happened, and they’ve resolved to keep it that way. But years later, Bob appears at Nathan’s door with terrifying news that threatens to tear Nathan’s world apart. Because Nathan has his own secrets now. Secrets that could destroy everything he has desperately fought to build for himself and his family.
