HBO has acquired the North American television and streaming rights to Miso Film's six-part Scandinavian limited drama series "The Investigation" from Oscar-nominated Writer and Director Tobias Lindholm. It is set to debut on Monday, 1st February at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
The limited series is written, directed, And executive produced By Oscar-nominated Tobias Lindholm And Produced By Fremantle’s Scandinavian Production Company, Miso Film. It is helmed By Jonas Allen and Peter Bose. “It is with great humility that I created 'The Investigation'” Lindholm said. “There is a great deal of responsibility in choosing to tell stories about events from the real world. Therefore, I am more than grateful for all the support I’ve received, including some of Denmark's and Sweden's most talented and acclaimed actors.”
Søren Malling leads the cast as Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide for the Copenhagen Police, alongside Pilou Asbæk as the prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen. Pernilla August and Rolf Lassgård star as Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall. Other cast members include Laura Christensen, Anders Juul, Henrik Birch, Hans Henrik Clemensen, Dulfi Al-Jabouri, and Charlotte Munck.
Based on the internationally followed “submarine case,” "The Investigation" follows Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide, and his team of investigators as they work to uncover the truth. In search of solid evidence to convince prosecutors of the crime that has been committed, the team enlists the use of methodical, unusual, and technical work tactics. The series was made in close cooperation with the real-life Jens Møller and Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall.
