THEMA Canada, Group CANAL+ subsidiary, and Les Echos – Le Parisien Group announced the launch of Mezzo Live HD, a world reference for classical music, jazz and dance on television, on the Canadian operator Telus. Mezzo Live HD will be available both in English and French.
This launch is an important step forward for the channel, which already broadcasts in Canada but will be available for the first time in British Columbia and Alberta.
“Mezzo Live HD brings together the greatest events of the international classical, dance, jazz and world music scenes. More than 150 performances are filmed each year, including more and more live transmissions. Mezzo Live HD is very pleased to be able to offer to the Canadian audience the opportunity to discover the diversity of music on our channel,” said Hervé Boissière, Director of Mezzo.
“In the near future, we will feature performances with our partners London Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Festival, Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Philharmonie de Paris, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and of course, Canadian Festival international de Jazz de Montréal,” he added.
