Warner Bros. Discovery has promoted Marybeth Strobel to Executive Vice President, Advertising Sales.“Marybeth is an experienced sales leader who will bring a fresh perspective to her suite of brands that are key sales drivers for our advertisers and loved by our audiences,” Steinlauf expressed in a statement. “She will serve as an excellent complement to our existing bundle leadership team, as we continue to drive client-focused solutions across the most comprehensive portfolio in the industry.”
She will report directly to Steinlauf. Under her new role, Strobel will oversee the national sales bundle that includes Food Network, TLC, OWN, Cooking Channel, TBS Entertainment, Cartoon Network and WB Syndication. She replaces Karen Grinthal, who announced her departure in September after 25 years in the position. The appointment is the latest of its kind following CEO David Zaslav’s merger earlier this year.
The former Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports has held several roles within the company leading ad sales across the portfolio, including CNN and Turner Sports, and growing digital solutions in the advertising space. Experience prior to Warner Bros. Discovery includes stints at advertising agencies like Televest, Wells BDDP and Barry Blau.
An active member of WBD Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Groups – among them Emerging Professionals, Women of Sports and Turner Sports People Advisory Council – Strobel also serves as a mentor and co-chair to the nominating committee for She Runs It, an incubator for women in marketing, media and tech. She previously served on the organization’s board and, as a graduate of Women in Cable Television’s Betsy Magness program, she received the Media Data and Analytics Ace award from Cynopsis’ 2019 Top Women in Media.
