Schwebig, currently President and Managing Director Western Europe & Africa at Warner Bros. Discovery, will succeed Thomas Rabe as CEO of RTL Group in May 2026.

The format secured a 31.1% market share in the 25–54 demo, outpacing RTL 4’s average by over eight points, and drove over 1.2 million viewers across RTL 4, Videoland, and YouTube in its launch week.

In H1 2025, paying streaming subscribers rose 15.3% to 7.2 million, streaming revenue climbed 27% to €235 million, and start-up losses fell nearly 60%, offsetting a 6.9% drop in TV ad sales and driving confidence in a €780 million full-year EBITA target.

With an upfront payment of €150 million and up to €377 million in performance-based earnouts, the deal adds 11.5 million subscribers and targets €250 million in annual synergies within three years.
