Fremantle today announces a new deal for finished content with top content operator Legend Media in China. The deal is Legend Media’s first and biggest factual package acquisition so far, comprising of over 100 hours of Fremantle factual content.“This is Legend Media’s biggest factual content package deal to date so for Fremantle to be the first company to collaborate with them in this space is a real privilege and we hope to continue this fruitful partnership to support their ambitions to provide the best content for China’s TV Industry," Haryaty Rahman, SVP Distribution Asia, International, who brokered the deal said.
Legend Media has selected a breadth of programming from Fremantle’s growing factual catalogue including the distribution giant’s first premium documentary "Arctic Drift: A Year In The Ice," produced by UFA Show & Factual and Wild Blue Media and the most comprehensive non-scripted series ever made on the transatlantic slave trade Enslaved: The Lost History of The Transatlantic Slave Trade, fronted by Hollywood Icon Samuel L. Jackson, is also amongst titles.
The deal also includes "Stonehenge: The Hidden Truth" produced by Fremantle-backed label Wild Blue Media, which reveals a pioneering new discovery at the historic site. Other titles acquired by Legend Media include "Last of The Giants," "Planet Defenders," "Expedition Unpacked," "Wild Orphan Rescue," "Royals: Declassified," "The Diana Interview: The Truth Behind The Scandal."
