Leading independent distributor All3Media International has inked a significant package deal with Canal+ Polska, as the Polish pay TV platform acquires rights to more than 130 hours of programming from multiple genres.
Ben Packwood, VP CEE at All3Media International, commented, “We’re thrilled to sign this high-volume deal with our partners at Canal+ Polska, which sees a diverse variety of programming heading to viewers in Poland, from thrilling dramas to blue chip natural history series and premium documentaries to escapist factual entertainment. The acquisition is the perfect example of our ability to be a one-stop-shop for buyers seeking world-class content from multiple genres, allowing them to build a line-up of programming that will hold strong appeal for a wide demographic, all through one deal with one distribution partner.”
The deal will see two premium scripted titles making their Canal+ Polska debut. This includes the first two six-episode seasons of HTM Television’s explosive thriller "Trigger Point," which was recently renewed for a fourth season by ITV, and two eight-episode seasons of the distinctive crime thriller "Black Sands" from Iceland’s Glassriver. Viewers in Poland will also be able to dive into more investigations with Amsterdam’s finest detective as Canal+ renews Company Pictures’ "Van Der Valk," acquiring rights to season three.
Produced by Story Films and David Beckham’s Studio 99, "Fever Pitch: The Rise of the Premier League" and "Fever Pitch: The Battle for the Premier League" will now be available in Poland on Canal+. Packed with gripping sporting narratives, these four-part documentary series tell the story of English football’s dramatic transformation through the 1990s and 2000s, told by the managers, players, fans and business brokers who were there.
The deal also includes a diverse line-up of factual entertainment programming. This includes seasons seven and eight of Two Rivers Media and Chateau TV’s "Escape to the Chateau," featuring more DIY, renovation, craft and family adventures on the grandest of scales with Dick and Angel Strawbridge, plus two seasons of spin-off "Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend."
Canal+ Polska has renewed BBC Studios’ long-running series "Gardeners’ World," acquiring season fourteen, and Outline Productions’ "Remarkable Places to Eat," acquiring season two of the series that sees famous foodies taking host Fred Sirieix to their favourite restaurants. Bright North Studios’ "Great American Land Listings," which follows the huge boom in the world of ranch real estate, also features in the deal, as does Purple TV’s "Jewels of the Mediterranean," a dazzling journey revealing the unspoilt beauty of the Mediterranean islands, narrated by Joanna Lumley.
Previously announced, major new natural history series "Parenthood," from genre-leading producer Silverback Films for BBC One and narrated by David Attenborough, will premiere for Polish audiences on Canal+. Filmed using the latest 8K technology and documenting never-seen-before behaviours, "Parenthood" is the definitive series on life’s greatest challenge, revealing remarkable stories of devotion, ingenuity and sacrifice as animals raise their young in a rapidly changing world.
