All3Media International has secured distribution rights to "Searching for Satoshi: The Mysterious Disappearance of the Bitcoin Creator," a new feature documentary executive produced by multi-award-winning filmmaker Paul Kemp, credited with "The Pretendians," Nike’s "Big Bet," "Transformer." “There are few people in the world who haven’t heard of Bitcoin, but many won’t have heard about the complex mystery surrounding its creator," Rachel Job, SVP Non-Scripted at All3Media International, said. "Revealing a story that has enough plot twists, hidden clues and red herrings to rival the best fictional detective drama, this beautifully crafted documentary takes viewers to the heart of the mystery, thoroughly investigating the evidence and offering incredible access to those involved.

Produced in association with CBC, Canada’s national public broadcaster, and commissioned for its marquee documentary strand, The Passionate Eye, the film will be produced in association with All3Media International and will premiere in late 2023. "Unlocking the greatest mystery of the tech age has been truly fascinating," Paul Kemp, Executive Producer said. "As Bitcoin continues its staggering growth across the world, I can guarantee that 'The Myth of Satoshi' will only intensify. I'm grateful to be part of shaping this incredible story,  and that CBC and All3Media International have so strongly supported my quest."

Revealing a global detective story, Searching for Satoshi is a cinematic-style documentary investigating the mysterious disappearance of the inventor of Bitcoin, a secretive character who goes by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.  In 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto launched Bitcoin, a ‘digital gold’ that many agree is the most innovative store of value ever created. Bitcoin has spread like wildfire across the globe and transformed the way money and currencies operate. Yet its origin story is largely unknown, as is the story of how and why its clandestine creator vanished less than two years after its inception.

Exploring the clues Satoshi left as to who he was and what his motives were, Searching for Satoshi will uncover the main Satoshi candidates: two dead and three alive. The filmmakers are also speaking to expert commentators, authors and podcasters, established traders, and Bitcoin miners – not only to provide exclusive insight into the mystery of Satoshi’s identity and disappearance but also to unravel the updated story of Bitcoin itself.  "Partnerships with acclaimed producers such as Paul Kemp Productions are integral to our strategy to grow our slate of high-end, globally relevant, premium documentary features, and this intriguing film will be a perfect fit for a wide range of broadcasters and platforms around the world," Job said.
