All3media secures new broadcasting deals for "The Holiday"

The Projector Pictures’ and Clapperboard Studios thriller has been acquired by Spectrum for U.S. audiences, BBC Studios for Australian viewers, and various European locations.

All3Media International has confirmed a wide range of sales for Projector Pictures’ and Clapperboard Studios’ thriller "The Holiday," with broadcasters across three continents set to air the adaptation of T.M. Logan’s bestselling novel. “Already a ratings-winning hit in the UK, Projector Pictures and Clapperboard Studios adaptation of T.M. Logan’s bestselling novel offers brilliant escapist entertainment that audiences all over the world are looking for," David Swetman, SVP Content and Commercial Strategy at All3Media International said. "A taut four-part drama, packed with edge-of-your-seat twists and turns, a beautiful Mediterranean setting and fantastic ensemble cast, we are sure our clients will be desperate to escape to 'The Holiday.'”

"The Holiday" is written by Michael Crompton, directed by Laura Way and produced by Julie Ryan. The series is executive produced by Rachel Gesua and Trevor Eve from Projector Pictures, Mike Benson from Clapperboard Studios, Dave Clarke from NENT Studios UK, along with Herbert L. Kloiber and Olivia Pahl from Night Train Media and distributed globally by All3Media International. These deals follow the four-part series ratings-winning launch in the UK, where it currently ranks as one of Channel 5’s top 10 programmes since February 2016.

Deals for this scorching thriller cover three continents, including Spectrum which has taken the series for U.S. audiences and will premierethe series on 20th June, with all four episodes available for Spectrum subscribers. BBC Studios has acquired the four-part series for Australian audiences and TVNZ has taken the series in New Zealand. The four-part thriller has further been acquired by Disney in a pan territory deal covering The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and by Nordic streamer Viaplay, where it is currently available in Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden.

The title showcases Jill Halfpenny and Owen McDonnell star as Kate and Sean, a seemingly happily married couple on the holiday of a lifetime with Kate’s three best friends and their families. Upon arriving, Kate makes a discovery that leaves her questioning whether her husband Sean is having an affair and the other woman is one of her best friends. But the stakes are far higher than she ever imagined...
