Alter Ego Media has launched a new international distribution division as part of a broader push to expand its global footprint. The initiative is aimed at promoting Greek-produced drama content abroad, with a focus on high-quality titles from MEGA TV’s growing slate. Cagla Menderes has been appointed as Head of International Content Sales to lead the newly created unit. The company plans to introduce this new strategy and its expanded slate of titles at upcoming international markets, including Mipcom in October.

With a background in global distribution through previous roles at Kanal D International and Global Agency, Menderes brings significant experience in licensing and international partnerships. At Alter Ego, she will be responsible for building MEGA’s presence in new markets and strengthening the company’s direct relationships with broadcasters and streaming platforms worldwide. “Our goal is not only to market television and audiovisual productions, but also to showcase Greek storytelling, creativity, and identity to audiences worldwide,” said Menderes.

The creation of this department marks the first time Alter Ego Media has launched a fully dedicated in-house team to handle international sales and licensing. This move positions the company to take greater control of its global strategy, reduce reliance on third-party distributors, and capture more value from its content exports. Alter Ego’s international ambitions come at a time of increasing interest in non-English scripted content, particularly from Mediterranean regions. With MEGA already gaining traction abroad, the new distribution arm is expected to accelerate licensing deals and co-production opportunities in Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
